Wildlife hospital, 5.3.17

Cleaning out hedgehogs is made even more fun when many cats are trying to get your attention…

After cleaning out the hedgehog cages in the hospital, I cared for the baby wild rabbit that had recently been brought in. I held her on my knee and hand-fed her with a syringe and warm milk. This rabbit will be released to the wild very soon as she is feeding well.

I was shown that if you stroke the side of a rabbits face that the corresponding ear will rise. This is an indicator of the rabbits health!

We were awaiting a polecat being brought in, which I will see the next time I go.

New animals included a baby bat, an owl, and a seagull. So there will always be something different in each week!
