Lambing, 14.4.17

On the morning of my last day, I had an unlucky field check with no lambing cases (but lucky for the sheep, of course, that there were no complications!)

We spent a few hours moving sheep without lambs out a field. This was incredibly complex, as we had to keep the ewes with lambs at the back of the field whilst the pregnant ewes were driven forward out of the field. We walked them down over the motorway bridge, so had to block all possible escape routes onto different lanes. Having a huge flock of sheep run at you is daunting. It was a success.

Β Other things I learned about include:

Ring womb

Twin disease

Orf scratch vaccines
